Currently, our newest one year old is reviewing the colors red, blue and green using toys and art projects. Next will be the color yellow.  He is also learning how to take turns and use his words to get along with his friends. Nursery rhymes, music, being read to and painting are very popular with him -- as well as lots of outdoor time!

The preschoolers are reading books themselves, using short vowel sounds and beginning sight words.  This week they are practicing particularly on the letter j J. Their writing and drawing projects are based on "j" subjects.  They are also doing beginning math using the number eight.  They have been enjoying dot-to-dots up to the number thirty, or letters A  -  Z.

The pre-K child is reading at the end of first grade level with excellent fluency and comprehension. Her skills have allowed her to complete 396 books on her reading charts! She is doing first grade math and does her well-loved dot-to-dots in the 1 - 250 range.  She is able to do book reports of various kinds, including drawing pictures and writing sentences.

Each child in the group receives individual attention and instruction and works at his/her own level of interest and comprehension.
